    Carolina RIDES+ helps people access work, healthcare, groceries, training, worship, and community through sponsored, affordable transportation.

    When someone has the opportunity to work, receive care, buy food, or take the next step toward stability, lack of transportation should not be what holds them back.

  • A missed ride can become a missed opportunity.

    • For many families, seniors, workers, and vulnerable adults, transportation is one of the biggest barriers to stability.
    • A person may have a job offer, a doctor’s appointment, a grocery need, a training opportunity, or a church community ready to help. But without reliable transportation, that opportunity can fall apart.
    • Public transportation does not always reach someone’s front door. Bus stops may be too far away. Routes may run too slowly. Ride-share services can cost more than someone can afford.
    • For someone working an hourly job, paying for transportation both ways can take a large part of the day’s income before they ever get home.
    • Carolina RIDES+ exists to help close that gap.

    1. A transportation need is identified:

    A person needs help getting to work, healthcare, groceries, training, worship, or another essential destination.

    2. A sponsor or partner helps support the ride:

    A church, employer, nonprofit, healthcare partner, donor, or community organization helps cover the cost.

    3. A trusted transportation provider helps complete the ride:

    We work with transportation partners to help people get where they need to go safely and affordably.

    4. Lives move forward:

    A ride can help someone keep a job, receive medical care, access food, attend training, or stay connected to their community.
